ETNG Essex Companions provides warm, local, DBS-checked companions for elderly people across Essex: friendly visits, shopping trips, appointments, and simply good company.
We don't provide clinical care. We provide genuine human connection. Our companions are warm, vetted local people who visit regularly and genuinely care about the people they spend time with.
Someone to talk to, share stories with, and enjoy the day alongside, every week, reliably.
Accompanied trips to the supermarket, high street, post office, making outings enjoyable again.
Accompaniment to GP, hospital, dentist or optician, so they're never alone at important moments.
Walks, café visits, gardens, puzzles, tailored to what your relative actually enjoys.
Every service is delivered by a personally matched, DBS-checked companion who visits consistently, building a real relationship over time.
Regular companionship visits: a cup of tea, a chat, board games, or simply good company. Scheduled so your relative looks forward to it each week.
Accompanied supermarket and high street trips. We help carry bags, navigate stores, and make the outing a social occasion rather than a chore.
Transport and support to GP, hospital, dentist, and other appointments. For families who can't always take time off work.
Walking, gardening, crafts, puzzles, reading aloud, personalised to your relative's interests and matched to the right companion.
Scheduled relief for family carers, so you can rest, work, or have time to yourself, knowing your relative is in warm, safe hands.
Short check-in visits with a written report to family after every visit. Peace of mind for families who live far away.
No hidden fees, no confusing contracts. Choose what suits your family. Call us and we'll advise the right fit.
Most families have a companion matched and visiting within 48 hours of contacting us.
A friendly chat about what your relative needs, no forms, no pressure, just a conversation.
We visit at no cost to understand your relative's interests, personality, and what would help most.
We personally select a companion based on personality, interests, and location. You approve before anyone visits.
Relaxed, informal, no pressure. Family always welcome to be present. First visit is completely free.
Regular visits build a genuine relationship. Written report to family after every single visit.
ETNG Essex Companions was founded to solve a problem we understood personally: the quiet anxiety of of having an elderly parent or relative living alone, and not being able to be there as often as you'd like.
We are a small, Essex-based agency. Every companion is personally interviewed, DBS checked, referenced, and trained in safeguarding before they ever visit a client. We know our companions and our clients by name and we're always reachable.
"We didn't want a care agency. We just wanted someone kind to visit Mum a few times a week. ETNG matched her with the perfect companion within two days. She actually looks forward to Tuesdays now."
My father was resistant at first. He's fiercely independent. After the first visit with his companion, he was already asking when he was coming back. The change in his mood has been remarkable.
We live in Manchester and Mum is in Southend on her own. ETNG Essex Companions has been a lifeline. Knowing she has someone visiting three times a week means we sleep at night. The reports are brilliant.
I was struggling as a full-time carer for my wife. Having a companion come twice a week gave me time to breathe and actually see a friend. I didn't realise how much I needed it. Absolutely invaluable.
No commitment, no pressure. We'll visit, listen, and find the right companion. The first visit is always free.
